UNIFORM & Equipment RULES
This is not an impressionist event, however if you can or wish to replicate or use equipment inspired by the time period or the BHD film, this would be appreciated.
TASK FORCE uniform / equipment
UNIFORM
Task Force are limited by uniform colour only.
All Uniform (Top and Trousers) must be the colours listed below:
LOAD-BEARING EQUIPMENT & HELMET
The colour of load bearing equipment, Ops Vests, Plate Carriers etc is irrelevant, and not limited.
The same goes for helmets
Night Vision is allowed, but not really needed because “We’ll be back in a half-hour”
No thermal - it is not in-keeping with the time period
WEAPONS
Not specifically limited
However where possible basic AR platforms inspired by the 90s time period would be preferred over modern rails and mounts
OPFOR uniform / equipment
UNIFORM
Civilian Clothing Only - Inspired by the 80s-90s and Somalian Attire
No Camouflage Clothing
EQUIPMENT
Chest Rigs, Satchels, Webbing and Pockets Only
No Molle Equipment or Plate Carriers
No Night Vision / Thermal
WEAPONS
Weapons should bare bones basic and not have any attachments
IMPORTANT:
In a change to our usual realcap rules, the militia will be limited to 4x mags for rifles (Including the one in the weapon) because this will promote militia style tactics of hit and run, rather than drawn out exchanges. The militia respawn point will not ever be far from the firefight, so a respawn and rearm should not be an issue.
Magazine fed support weapons such as RPK can have 6 magazines
Medic Rules
TASKFORCE MEDIC RULES ONLY
These rules are implemented to enable TaskForce to remain in the field for a prolonged period
PPE AND ASSOCIATED MEDIC LIVES
Each Taskforce Player carries 1x tourniquet / Bandage for each armour item they wear (limited to helmet and body armour) to a maximum of 2x Tourniquets / Bandages carried on their person.
Note:
This is for all helmets, we do recognise that bump helmets (protec etc) are not ballistic in reality. But we believe this would introduce too much complexity for the event.
The TQs / Bandages carried on the player wearing body armour and / or helmet are for “Buddy Aid”
Meaning that any teammate may apply the bandage / TQ, not just a dedicated medic
COMBAT MEDIC
We are introducing the role of COMBAT MEDIC to the event.
This is an optional player role being added to provide additional ground capabilities.
A Combat Medic must carry a daysack (minimum 20L size) which should contain up to 8x bandages / TQs etc. (Combat Medics must supply their own team bandages and daysacks)
A Combat Medic is able to medic back in any person during their 5 min bleed out period.
This could be on their 1st hit or 6th hit, as long as they have not been waiting greater than 5 mins.
A hit player can be moved to a medic within that 5 mins - The Medic does not have to go to them.
A player wearing body armour and helmet might have their own TQs to use for buddy aid, but a medic may opt to use their own supply of bandages, or the players own TQ in the form of buddy aid depending on what resources they have left available to them.
If the Medic is hit, they are not able to use the resources from the medical pack to revive themselves
OPFOR / Militia Medic / Respawn Rules
These rules are implemented to replicate the more continous wave effect of Militia which occured during the battle.
The Rules are far more simple for opfor.
As the militia are not wearing body armour or helmets, they will not carry any TQs or bandages for medic lives.
When his, they will simply bleed out for 5 Mins.
However the Militia will be respawning much closer, from their own accommodation (because the Militia live in the city).
A hit militia member can be moved from the place they have been hit, back to their respawn by another militia member (hand on shoulder). Once they are back at their respawn they are back in.
Ammo / Equipment RESUPPLY
TASKFORCE ONLY
This event will intends to find a delicate balance to keeping you in the field, in fierce firefights so long that you begin to run low on ammo. But at the same time not leaving you high and dry so that you choose to walk back to your accommodation to bomb up.
The following mechanisms are to be implemented to manage this.
Daysacks
“You’re not gonna need that, dude. We’ll be back in a half-hour”
Every TF member is encouraged top pack a daysack, this daysack does not have to be period correct at all.
We suggest that the contents of the daysack are waterproofed with dry bags or bin liners.,
Recommended items for the daysack would include:
- Spare Loose Ammo +Speed loader
- Additional Pyro
- Gas
- Snack foods + water
- Warm Layer / Woobie
- Night Vision
Daysacks must be left in the Ops Room Before Start Ex - And may be delivered out on the ground at a “Casualty collection point” / forward respawn location.
Ammo / Equipment Resupply
During the Battle of Mogadishu, Soldiers ran extremely low on ammunition and water, especially through the night.
Littlebird helicopters dropped ammo and water into the streets, for the soldiers to try to recover.
We aim to replicate this occurrence.
We will supply duffel bags for the section to fill with Ammo, Water etc.
It will then be possible for a section to call for a resupply drop - there the sections duffel bag will be dropped from a vehicle as close as possible to the section on the ground
